When I first arrived at the Donkey, there did not seem to be anyone at the place supporting the cause. Fortunately this was because everyone was crammed into the back room of the Donkey to watch the performers. This is what I was greeted with before I got to the back room.
The back room was completely packed and was left with just standing room only. Many local performances took the stage and the atmosphere gave way to a sort of "open mic" vibe.
It is important that we do what we can to help these dogs find good homes. In these troubling economic times, dog shelters find it hard to provide for as many dogs that need help. If you would like to find out how you can help this cause please visit the Athens County Dog Shelter Web site. Any little bit can help.

ReplyDeleteIt's really inspirational and heartwarming to see how local volunteers and mucisians are pitching in to make a difference for these dogs without homes. It is so important that the local community support the Athens County Dog Shelter and everything they do for homeless dogs and cats. I adopted my dog, Juneau, from the shelter last summer and I was very impressed with the compassion the workers had for animals and the level of care they provided. If you are considering getting a dog in Athens or anywhere else, I strongly urge you to adopt. Like the photo said, those dogs deserve a second chance.
